What makes Bennett Custom Homes different from other home builders?
Building your home is personal to Jim Bennett. He builds it as his own and to his satisfaction before it is turned over to the client. It has his name on it and it’s his job to make sure what will finally become your home is built with excellence.
The moment you sit down with Jim and Pal Bennett, you step into home building experience that is special. Their motto is “Building Relationships, Whatever it Takes.”
Here are three reasons why building a home with Bennett Custom Homes is different from working with most home builders:
Difference #1 – No Salesmen
“What makes us different is the time we spend with our clients,” Jim says. Your first meeting typically lasts about two hours, and that meeting is with Jim and Pal . . . not a salesman. You’ll learn about construction and how to select a building lot (if you haven’t already). Jim will explain the process from start to finish, so you’ll know what to expect.
The meeting usually starts with the question, “What do you want?” In other words, what is the most important element or function in a home for you? What is your goal? Is it to create a new home before the baby comes? Or do you have a passion for cooking? Perhaps your goal is a gathering place for family and friends?
Once Jim and Pal understand your goals, they know the expectations they must meet. Jim will personally visit your building site well in advance of purchase. It’s critical to understand whether the lot is suitable to the home you desire. He’ll walk you through what life will look like in your future home. This allows you to adjust and tweak the plan so that it works with your lifestyle.
Difference #2 – No Limits
At Bennett Custom Homes, clients aren’t limited in their options, whether that is paint colors, flooring options or roof options. Pal will tour local supplier showrooms to help you pick out everything from cabinet doors to toilet handles.
Building allowances are structured based on your choices. And making your selections in advance removes surprise expenses. When it comes time to review the total budget, everything will be based on what you’ve selected. If it’s more than what you want to spend, adjustments are made. But the difference is that these changes are made in advance, not under the pressure of a building deadline.
Why? Because it’s going to be your home.
Difference #3 – No Surprises
“We put in the time up front so you will know where you’ll be in the end,” Jim says.
All of your major decisions are made before signing a building contract. All the options you have selected will be included in a detailed agreement. The work that comes before the agreement ensures that there are no surprises. You’ll understand every cost in advance.
But that’s not all.
Jim will sit down with you and walk you through the entire agreement, which includes photos of every selection you’ve made for your home. He’ll review a detailed building schedule with you. You’ll have access to a live calendar so you’ll always know what the next steps in the construction process will be. You’ll get a weekly progress report on the status of your home.
Building a home is an art as well as a science. It takes skill and experience to keep all the moving parts of building a home running on budget and on time. And Bennett Custom Homes has a consistent method that ensures the process works for you.
Why Spend $650,000 or More to Live in Someone Else’s House?
By the time you come to the point of signing a contract with Bennett Custom Homes, you’ll know who you’re working with. The home you build together is already established on a foundation of trust.
How long does it take to build a home? Usually about ten months. The first couple of months are spent designing your floorplan, specs and selecting fixtures, lighting, flooring and the like. Once this has been completed and a contract signed, the building process is usually between six to eight months.
Every home is different, but what remains the same is that Bennett Custom Homes looks after every client from start to finish. Their goal is to have you happy before a shovel goes into the ground.
